1. Equipment Rules: Follow NFAA Equipment Rules.
2. A line captain shall be selected and shall settle all doubtful issues pertaining to shooting and scoring.
3. Each contestant must declare before shooting begins that he is shooting for WSAA score.
4. There will be two official practice ends consisting of three arrows each.
5. An end consists of three arrows; ten ends shall constitute the round. There is a 2½-minute time limit for an end. The archer will shoot their assigned target. If assigned to the upper target, the archer will shoot the upper target for the first five ends, then rotate to shoot the lower for the remaining five ends, and vice-versa.
6. Scoring area values shall be X(10), 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1.
a. Arrows touching the line shall be in the next higher scoring area.
b. If using the three-spot face score the gold (X(10),10,9), red (8,7), and blue ring (6).
c. Scorer will record X’s and value of each arrow on the scorecard.
7. No archer may advance in front of the shooting line during normal shooting periods for ANY reason.
a. Any archer shooting prior to beginning whistle or after whistle signaling end will lose the highest scoring arrow or arrows equaling the number of discrepant arrows shot.
b. Anyone shooting more than three arrows will score the lowest three arrows. A penalty of one point will be assessed for each arrow shot over the prescribed number.
c. If using the three-spot face, you're allowed one arrow per spot. If more than one arrow is in a single spot,you will lose the highest arrow or arrows in that spot.
8. The line captain will make all decisions on scoring questionable arrows, and their decisions are final.
a. All arrows must remain in the target until scoring is completed.
b. Touching any questionable arrow prior to the completion of scoring shall result in the questionable arrow being scored in the lower scoring area.
c. Witnessed bounce outs and pass throughs will be re-shot at the end of the round. This is subject to the discretion of the line captain.
d. When there is a difference in the two score cards; the lowest score must be taken.
9. In event of equipment failure, verified by the line captain, the archer shall have the remainder of the end in which the equipment malfunctioned plus two ends to make repairs.
a. Backup bows may be used.
b. The archer shall be given one end (three arrows) for the purpose of resighting.
c. Make up arrows will be shot at the end of the round in the presence of the line captain.
d. The occurrence of repair or replacement shall not happen more than once during a round.
10. In case of major equipment failure which cannot be repaired in the time allowed, an archer may suspend shooting and continue the round at a later date. Either repaired or replaced equipment may be used.
a. Scorecards will be retained by the location reporter until the round is completed.
b. Makeup round will be shot in the presence of the Line Captain.
c. This occurrence of suspending and continuing shooting may not happen more than once in the six-round series.
d. This option applies to the Mail-In tournament ONLY.
11. When an arrow is dropped while the archer is in the act of shooting, he may shoot another arrow in place of the dropped arrow if any part of the dropped arrow is within ten feet of the shooting line. (A dropped arrow is one which falls while being transferred from the quiver to be nocked on the string; or in preparation of the shot; or falls from the string during a controlled letdown.)
12. Any archer who purposely disfigures a target face for any reason may be disqualified.
13. Any archer conducting himself in an unsportsmanlike manner shall be IMMEDIATELY disqualified.
14. The use of spotting scopes will be permitted both on and off the shooting line. However, on-line scopes will be restricted to small hand held scopes. Archers will not be allowed to step on and off the line for the purpose of using spotting scopes. No verbal communications will be allowed.
15. Bowhunter Freestyle and Bowhunter Freestyle Limited competitors may NOT adjust their pin sights during a round.
16. Any registered shooters must complete all six rounds to be eligible for awards.
17. Winner is the archer with the highest total score and X count. Ties will be decided by the highest score and X count in the following sequence: 1. First Round, 2. Second Round, 3. Third Round. If a tie still exists, then contestants will be declared tied, and equal awards will be given.
18. Any rules not covered above shall be referred to the Tournament Committee.
19. Any grievances must be presented in writing to the Tournament Committee, accompanied by a $25.00 fee.
1. The Indoor Multi-Color Mail-In Championship shall consist of six rounds, usually shot over a period of six weeks. Registered archers may submit scores shot on / after 1 December 2009. Deadline for registration is 15 December 2009. All forms and fees must be postmarked by this date. All scores are due 31 January 2010.
2. Each shooting group shall select a tournament reporter. The Location Reporter must mail or email scores to the Tournament Vice President each week. Do NOT wait until all rounds have been shot! The Tournament Vice-president will tabulate scores from all locations and send a summary to each shooting location reporter.
3. The distance shot will be 18 meters, using the multi-color 40 cm. indoor target, or three-spot target face.Cubs and PeeWees shoot at 9 meters. The round shot consists of 10 ends of 3 arrows each, total 30 arrows
4. All NFAA Divisions / Styles are recognized, including PeeWee. Multiple Entry: an archer may shoot additional rounds and compete in more than one style (i.e. Freestyle and Bowhunter Freestyle), but may not compete in more than one age division within the same style. Separate fees and a separate registration form are required for each category in which an archer shoots.
5. With the exceptions in a. and b. below, all participants must be current WSAA members, although nonmembers will be permitted to join the WSAA prior to the start of the tournament. To determine the proper age group for this tournament, use the individual’s age at the start of the tournament.
a. Out of state shooters are welcome to compete in this tournament provided they are members of their own state or province archery association or the WSAA. *
b. NAA members who are residents of Washington and are not members of WSAA are welcome to compete. *
c. * Indicate membership status and enclose copy of membership card with registration form.
6. A sample scorecard will be provided by the Tournament Committee. All scoring must be double scoring, with one score card being retained by the location reporter and a copy mailed or emailed to the Tournament Committee. All archers should turn in their scores to their location reporter, regardless of where the scores were shot. All scorecards must be signed by the individual archer and two other WSAA members (three different signatures are required). All juniors shooting shall be supervised and their scorecards signed by an adult.
